Training Philosophy
At ExRDS we believe that dive training is not a turn key, out of the box experience. One size does not fit all when it comes to adapting to the underwater environment. The experience should be personal and rewarding and focused on core competencies that create a safe and environmentally conscious diver. Ready to begin or continue your evolution? The ExRDS approach is to maximize your experience with real world applications in varied and often demanding environments. The required dives for a course are only a minimum standard. We believe that a certification is earned, not given and that the comfort level and safety of the diver is far more important than a plastic card. To become a diver with us click here. |
Course pricing
The ExRDS pricing structure is designed to be mold-able to the students desires and financial concerns. That said, Scuba training has historically been under priced and the quality that this yields is usually sub-par. Our goal is to price our courses so that the student receives 100% of our time and talent while still remaining competitive. We will not undercut the local dive center; in fact we will incorporate them into the process whenever possible. Gear rentals, purchases and boat charters will absolutely be directed to a local dive center. Our pricing structure consists of a base amount that covers the books, cert fees and instruction. Additional expenses will include travel, accommodations, boat fees, rental gear and required personal gear (this varies depending on course type). We strongly encourage students to combine their training with travel since we feel that this maximizes the exposure and efficiency for all involved and provides an adventure that creates lasting memories and interactions. |
Inherent in diving is the risk of personal injury. At ExRDS we strongly recommend that entry level diving students carry their own personal injury dive insurance, but it is required for all technical and professional level students training with ExRDS. We have included links to DAN and Dive Assure as suggestions, but the coverage can come from any company offering scuba diving insurance to the public.
